I grew up in Vernon, New Jersey and have worked as a professional musician since graduating form the University of Rochester in 1996. I've played arenas with jam bands while dressed as a robot (Sonar, 2000-2003), attempted to salsa dance while touring the country with a dozen people in an RV (Chupacabra, 1997-2001), been replaced by a mechanical bull after three years of taking requests (The Reef, 2004-2007), and backed up a handful of international recording artists, most notably Otis Taylor and Liza Oxnard. For a while I was also a booking agent (national agency Watermark Media) - small-time, but full-service.
In the fall of 2010, I will begin medical school at the University of Colorado. I am currently employed as a member of the piano staff at Sing Sing in Denver. In recent months, I completed my undergraduate prerequisites, went to Disney World, finished 231st out of 356 in my first triathlon, decided the iPad was cool, cried during the finales to "Battlestar Galactica" and "Lost," recorded ten seconds of piano that eventually got cut from the original score to a major motion picture, and got my daughter off of training wheels, all without ever once eating "Rocky Mountain Oysters" or "Balut." Someday, I would like to learn Spanish and Final Cut. My hobbies include web design and upholding the stereotype that Asians are Mathletes. |
